The Tropical Australian Academic Health Centre (TAAHC) is a regional, collaborative vehicle for northern Queensland Member Organisations and their employees to foster locally relevant research of significance that improves the health of our communities. We deliver an evidence-base for practical solutions that provide safe, sustainable, and integrated health services for northern Queenslanders.

None of this is achievable without a robust and stable health workforce in our region. Since its inception, TAAHC has been aware of the acute and chronic health workforce shortage being experienced across Australia, especially in regional, rural, remote (RRR) areas, and even more intimately we understand the shortage in northern Queensland.

The TAAHC Health Workforce Proposal is an opportunity to identify effective and actionable workforce shortage solutions, to implement in the short, medium, and long-term, for the benefit of our members, and our region.
